Art Show (Spring)
Multiple craft and art stations are made available for the students to explore in the gymnasium. The event is held in the spring, either evening or weekend hours.
Bake Sales
Donate snacks, meal items, and baked goods, as well as work the table during several PTA events.
Big G Box Tops & Giant Eagle Apples for Students
Help run and keep track of these two, specific fundraising initiatives.
Bingo Night (January)
Help inventory and organize supplies, sell bingo cards and daubers that evening, and keep track of money earned and awarded throughout the event. Held in the evening in the school gym.
Bird Watchers
A newer committee started last year, Bird Watchers holds different events throughout the school year, including one in conjunction with the Earth Day Celebration.
Book Fair (October and May)
Help plan, setup, assist children with shopping, and clean up after the event. Fall dates are during the school day throughout the week, as well as one evening family night event. The Spring event is during the school day.
Butterfly Garden
Help maintain the Butterfly Garden in front of our school. An event will take place in conjunction with Earth Day celebration.
Conservation Team
Help organize programs to encourage our school to "go green."
Community Outreach
Plan and run any service projects our school could participate in (ex. holiday pajama drive).
Decorating Committee
Make fun and positive decorations for our school's entryways and bulletin board every month, help as needed with other decorations as requested by school staff, and work on thematic decor for the holiday show in December.
Earth Day Celebration (April)
Help get the school ready for spring by showing off your gardening skills, sharing those skills with others, and planning and/or helping with Earth Day-related activities. The Earth Day Celebration is held in the evening, outside of the school building.
Family Game Night (November)
Plan and staff an evening of fun games and activities for McClellan families. This event is held in the evening at the school.
Field Day (May)
This event provides the students a fun-filled opportunity to participate in a variety of team activities centered on developing good sportsmanship and cooperation. MANY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Fifth Grade Activities
Collaborate and assist in activities, special events, fundraisers, field trips, etc. for the fifth grade class.
Fundraising
Help plan, organize, and run fundraisers for the year. We need the help!
Grant Writing Committee
This is a brand new committee to be formed this year in hopes of helping to identify and apply for numerous grants to fund equipment, facility, and program needs for the school. The Grant Writing Committee will work in conjunction with the school administration throughout the year.
Holiday Shop (December)
Help the children shop for family members and assist in setup and cleanup. This event is held during the school day.
Library Aides
Library Aides assist with keeping the library organized, on an as needed basis, during the school day.
Read Across America (February/March)
Help plan a reading celebration with a Dr. Seuss theme. Special activities are planned for the children during this week. Most are during school hours, but can include evening if pre-approved.
Red Ribbon Week (October)
Help organize activities for the students in celebration of this drug prevention campaign.
Staff Appreciation
Plan and organize events and actions that support our faculty and staff to show them how much they are appreciated!
Star Reader
Star Reader is for the parents of first- through third-graders who want to visit with, and read to, their child's class during a designated time. Times are assigned by the teacher.
Teacher Assistance Team
Assist teachers with making copies, cutting things out, etc. Times will be assigned on an as-needed basis, most often during the school day.
T-shirt Committee
Help to pick a shirt design, organize orders, and distribute the shirts upon delivery.
Yearbook
Assist in the collection of pictures throughout the school year, help to organize and choose the layout, and coordinate the sale and distribution of the completed books.
